Cycling: E-Bikes are Becoming the New Favorite of the Middle Class in Europe and America

Recently, high-priced cycling equipment has surged in popularity in Europe and America, particularly e-bikes, priced between $1,000 and $5,000. These bikes are equipped with motors that assist riders, requiring less effort than traditional bikes. They also embody the middle class’s values of low-carbon environmentalism, contributing to their rise in popularity.

According to Moojing Oversea, in the past year, the outdoor cycling market on the US Amazon platform had sales of USD 1.34 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24%.

1.In 2021 alone, the US imported nearly 790,000 e-bikes, a 70% increase year-on-year, with a compound annual growth rate of around 12% over the past two years. According to Moojing Oversea, the US Amazon e-bike market had sales of nearly USD 400 million in the past year, a year-on-year increase of 38.8%, with 6,680 items sold.

Some brands are enhancing e-bike performance with improved accuracy, anti-theft features, and adaptive intelligence. Battery life and portability are also being upgraded. E-bike return rates on Amazon in North America are around 3.8%, highlighting the importance of local after-sales service systems.
